I have had the chance to take many people fishing who have never fished bass ever. And they have caught fish and learned some things about proper equipment and baits. I have had a lot of fun doing this because people get the opportunity to do something that they never thought they could do. And they have found out that they really enjoyed fishing bass.

One thing to know about largemouth and smallmouth bass is they live in different habitats. Largemouth can usually be found in weed lines, slop, rice, reeds, muddy or murky water. Largemouth that are found in cleaner, clear water are generally smaller then those of murky, darker waters. Smallmouth, on the other hand, are found mostly in clear water lakes along rocks, sand, stumps, and fallen trees. Both of these fish are very territorial and aggressive. That is what makes them so rapid and explosive on lures.

A lot of people have caught bass using live bait such as minnows, leaches, and night crawlers. While fishing with me, we will be fishing with artificial bait. These baits are specifically designed for bass fishing. Most of these lures are used in specific areas and structures.
